The Difference Between Fear & Intuition
If you’ve ever doubted yourself or felt confused between what you feel and what you think, then this post is for you!
Firstly knowing the purpose of fear is really handy. You ARE in fact meant to lean into fear.
Look fear in the eyeballs and stare it down. Fear can be dissolved when we allow ourselves to be courageous by addressing it, instead of allowing it to linger and be unheard.
Fear can and most often is, a powerful force for transformation.
So, how to tell if what you’re thinking or feeling is fear...
The number one thing to remember is to TUNE INTO YOUR BODY. Use this beautiful vessel we were gifted with, that is the container that carries God's/universe/source’ wisdom (whatever you want to call it) , that's pulsing through you ALL THE TIME.
Ask… What does fear feel like in my body?
Do you contract, does your head get heavy, do you feel your energy being drained? … These are all subtle hints from the body that tell you what you’re feeling is fear.
Where do you feel it in your body? What does it look like? … Get to know it and anchor that as ‘that’s the feeling I get when fear comes up’ - most of the time it doesn’t feel good.
Now, how to tell if what you’re thinking or feeling is from your intuition…
If your intuition is saying YES, it may feel as though it’s easier to breathe from the diaphragm. Your energy may feel light or uplifting? Does your chest and body expand? What emotions are stirring? Excitement, joy? … Really tune into the subtle undercurrents of sensations in the body.
On the other hand if your intuition is saying NO, there may be a pit in your stomach, you may visualise dull colours or you may find yourself hesitating before saying yes, when potentially you FEEL as though you should be saying no.
Again, use the body as your frame work to find the path you’re meant to be on.
Meditating for at least 5-10 minutes per day strengthens your ability to TUNE IN. Try the above exercise next time you’re in doubt or confused between fear and intuition and be sure to leave a comment below and/or share with a friend who may benefit!
